We at House Convention-Princeton are very proud to announce that NAMI-Mercer is one of our charities of choice for The Convention.
NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illness and their families. Founded in 1979, NAMI has become the nation's voice on mental illness, a national organization including NAMI organizations in every state and in over 1100 local communities across the country who join together to meet the NAMI mission through advocacy, research, support, and education.
Last May the cast of House sponsored a charity auction ( remember "House" Charity Tees?) to help shine a light on mental health issues. Proceeds from this auction went towards NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
"Mental illness is stigmatized and misunderstood in our society, and we're trying to do something about that," said HOUSE executive producer Katie Jacobs. "We're very fortunate to be celebrating an extremely successful third season for HOUSE, and we'd like to give something back to a cause we feel is both worthy and overlooked."
We would like to thank the wonderful people at NAMI-Mercer for allowing all of us to shine the light a little brighter on mental illness.
Here's to a most successful event!
