The Arts Council Of Princeton

A very unique place to explore and a venue under consideration for House Convention-Princeton is
The Arts Council Of Princeton.
The following information is from their website with permission to link to it.
"The mission of the Arts Council of Princeton is to build community through the arts by providing opportunities for appreciation of and participation in the visual, performing, and literary arts in Princeton and the greater Princeton region. The Arts Council of Princeton is a multi-disciplinary organization encompassing three key functions:
-Operating a center for arts education, exhibitions, literary events, and performing arts that is accessible to people of all ages and from all socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
-Serving the community through events, as an advocate for arts appreciation, and as a catalyst for artistic activity in the region
-Providing a support, advocacy, and coordinating structure for local artists and arts organizations
Arts Council programs provide a common ground where people from diverse backgrounds can come together through creative endeavors, which are the essence of our humanity."
The Campaign To Build The Paul Roberson Center For The Arts
From The Contemporary Arts Center of The Arts Council Of Princeton web site:
"Paul Robeson was the epitome of the 20th – century Renaissance man. He was an exceptional athlete, actor, singer, cultural scholar, author, and political activist who lived as a child in the neighborhood adjacent to The Arts Council. In naming the center after him, the Council and the Princeton Community honor the contributions of Paul Robeson as well as his personal significance to Princeton."
Most towns’ main streets are anchored by retail stores and office buildings.
Princeton is anchored by a superb arts center and library at one end and a great university at the other. Because the arts and education are open to all and serve to build bridges rather than barriers, they serve to bring together in Princeton an ethnically, racially, culturally and economically diverse population.
Included in the new arts center will be studio space for ceramics, visual arts, digital and traditional photography, literary and performing arts. A new state-of-the-art theater will provide a venue for music, dance, theater, film and literary arts programming. A museum-quality gallery will provide exhibition space for emerging to established artists.
